Tribes Contributing Thousands to Candidates

As reported by the Minnesota Star-Tribune: "American Indian tribes, flush with casino cash, are contributing thousands to candidates in close Senate and House races. "While most of the money is going to Democrats, Republicans are getting a bigger share than they did four years ago. Indian gambling interests gave 65 percent to Democrats in the last two years, compared with 79 percent in the 2000 election cycle, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics. Since 1990, they have given more than $20 million to political campaigns.
