Man Uses Judgment Money to Fight Discrimination

Zhang Wei, a victim of racial discrimination in the work place, donated $500,000 as a trust fund for establishing an advocacy organization to provide legal assistance and consultation to Asian employees suffering racial discrimination. Zhang's organization, the Asian American Affairs Association (AAAA), officially opened on Nov.25 in Seattle, Washington.  Zhang came to the United States in the early 90's to pursue an MBA degree at Delaware State University. Upon graduation, he worked at a local seafood company as a supervisor, in charge of Asian-Pacific business. The company was acquired by American GEM Group/MCMI in 1997, when Zhang became the President for the Asian-Pacific Region and corporate vice president of the group.[more]
